Dog-Friendly Restaurants

From classic Southern barbecue to artisanal coffee and craft beer, Nashville’s culinary scene embraces pups on patios across the city.

Edley’s Bar-B-Que

This beloved Nashville institution allows dogs on the heated patio at its 12th South location (12th Avenue). You’ll often spot pups lounging alongside their owners — or featured on Edley’s Instagram feed.

All barbecue is smoked low and slow over local white oak wood. Menu highlights include seasonal fried okra, BBQ Nachos, catfish tacos, and house-made banana pudding — a true tribute to Southern tradition.

Frothy Monkey

In the same 12th South neighborhood, Frothy Monkey offers a laid-back, community-driven coffee experience. Staff often greet visiting dogs with fresh water bowls — and may even offer gentle snuggles on the outdoor patio. It’s a great spot to connect with fellow dog lovers while enjoying locally roasted coffee, freshly baked pastries, loaded biscuits and gravy, and bagel sandwiches.

M.L. Rose Craft Beer & Burgers

Dog owners consistently praise the Sylvan Park location (on Charlotte Avenue) for its warm, inclusive vibe. The expansive patio features fresh water bowls and a friendly staff who happily accommodate four-legged guests.

Choose from more than 90 rotating craft beers and all-natural beef burgers. Don’t miss the signature waffle fries or creative options like the Angry Dragon burger — topped with avocado, a sunny-side-up egg, and Sriracha.

The Southern Steak & Oyster Bar

One of downtown Nashville’s most acclaimed dining destinations, The Southern Steak & Oyster Bar welcomes dogs on its inviting outdoor patio — a rare perk in the heart of the city.

Enjoy Southern classics such as the Southern fried egg sandwich, hot chicken salad, braised beef brisket, smoked pork chops, and slow-smoked barbecue ribs — all served with genuine hospitality.

Dog-Friendly Attractions

When it’s time to explore Music City, many top attractions roll out the red carpet for pups — from iconic streets to scenic green spaces.

Music Row

Just south of downtown, Music Row is where Nashville’s musical heartbeat lives. Instead of towering office buildings, record labels operate from charming historic homes — making for a relaxed, walkable stroll with your dog. Keep an eye out for studio signs, vintage guitars in windows, and the occasional impromptu street performance.

12th South

This vibrant, eclectic neighborhood is a favorite among locals and visitors alike — and especially popular with dog owners. Tree-lined sidewalks, colorful murals, boutique shops, and plenty of outdoor seating make it ideal for leisurely walks and spontaneous stops. Many cafes and shops here proudly display “Dogs Welcome” signs — and FurPetVo’s local guide highlights the best off-leash-friendly zones and pet supply stops.

Centennial Park

One of Nashville’s most beloved green spaces, Centennial Park offers miles of paved and gravel paths, open lawns perfect for fetch, and shaded benches for rest breaks. The park is home to the iconic Parthenon replica — and yes, dogs are welcome on leashes throughout the grounds. Early mornings and late afternoons are ideal times to visit, when temperatures are cooler and crowds are lighter.

Riverfront Park & The Cumberland Riverwalk

Stretching along the Cumberland River, this scenic corridor connects downtown landmarks with serene waterfront views. Leashed dogs love the wide, flat pathways — perfect for morning jogs or sunset strolls. Public water fountains (some pet-height accessible) and ample benches make it easy to pause and enjoy the view together.
