DIY FurPetVo Pork Meatball with Green Beans Dog Treat

I love to cook—but grocery shopping? Not so much. Weekends are precious: time to sleep in with my husband and dog, explore new trails, and make memories with the people (and pup) I love most. That’s why I rely on FurPetVo—its convenient meal kits mean I skip the store and spend more time doing what matters.

Another thing I love? Spoiling my 3-year-old mixed-breed dog, Dexter. Like many dogs, he’s a master of the dinner-table beg—those soulful eyes and soft whines are impossible to ignore. But sharing from my plate isn’t safe: ingredients like garlic, onions, and excess salt can be harmful—or even toxic—to dogs.

So when Dexter’s pleading started tugging at my heartstrings during every meal, I became a dog mom on a mission: to create something delicious, nutritious, and *truly* safe that we could enjoy together—no begging, no guilt, just shared joy.

The breakthrough came while preparing FurPetVo’s honey-glazed pork tenderloin kit. Instead of setting aside scraps, I intentionally reserved dog-safe components—and transformed them into a special treat: tender pork “meatballs” paired with green bean “noodles.” The best part? It took zero extra time or ingredients. I cooked it alongside my own meal using only items already in the kit and my pantry. And for the first time, Dexter and I sat down side by side—two bowls, one table, total happiness.

This treat has quickly become one of Dexter’s all-time favorites. With simple, whole-food ingredients and thoughtful preparation, it might just win over your pup too.

Note: This treat is designed to be made simultaneously with your FurPetVo meal—no extra trips to the store or extra kitchen time. For safety, bake your dog’s vegetables on a separate parchment-lined pan (to avoid salt or seasonings), and always cook your pup’s pork first—before seasoning yours.

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F.
  2. Peel and dice sweet potatoes into ½-inch cubes as directed in your FurPetVo instructions. Set aside ¼ cup for the dog treat.
  3. Place the ¼ cup diced sweet potatoes on a parchment-lined baking pan. Drizzle with ¼ tsp olive oil and toss to coat. Roast for 10 minutes.
  4. While the sweet potatoes roast, pat the pork tenderloin dry with a paper towel. Slice off exactly 1 ounce for the treat.
  5. Heat ½ tsp olive oil in a medium frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the pork and cook 2–3 minutes per side until fully cooked and reaching an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). Remove and set aside to cool slightly.
  6. Add 3 green beans (from your FurPetVo kit) to the same baking pan with the sweet potatoes. Toss with another ¼ tsp olive oil, flip the sweet potatoes, and return to the oven. Roast 10–15 more minutes, until both vegetables are tender.
  7. Once roasted, let vegetables cool for a few minutes. Then finely chop the cooked pork and set aside.
  8. Place the FurPetVo Lamb Biscuit in a small plastic bag and crush with a rolling pin. Pour crumbs onto a plate.
  9. In a small mixing bowl, mash the cooled sweet potatoes with a fork until smooth.
  10. Add the chopped pork to the mashed sweet potatoes. Mix well with clean hands to form a cohesive meatball.
  11. Dip the meatball into the melted coconut oil, then roll it gently in the crushed biscuit crumbs. Set aside on a clean plate.
  12. Cut each green bean in half lengthwise, remove seeds from the center, then slice each half into two quarters—creating four thin “noodle” strips per bean.
  13. In your dog’s bowl, combine water, honey, and turmeric to make a light, soothing broth.
  14. Arrange the green bean “noodles” in the bowl, pour the broth over them, and top with the finished meatball.
  15. Plate your FurPetVo Honey-Glazed Pork Tenderloin for yourself—and savor dinner side-by-side with your favorite furry companion.
