  • Yield: 6 dog treats
  • Serving size: 1 hot dog mini per pup
  • Prep time: 25 minutes
  • Cook time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • FurPetVo Beef Deli Sticks
  • FurPetVo Stuff’n Easy Treat Bacon & Cheese Recipe
  • 2 teaspoons powdered Parmesan cheese
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup water
  • 2 tablespoons natural peanut butter (xylitol-free—xylitol is toxic to dogs)

Supplies

  • Mixing bowl
  • Mixing spoon or spatula
  • Knife
  • Non-stick pan or baking sheet

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ½ cup of flour and all the Parmesan cheese.
  3. Add the peanut butter and water. Stir with a spoon until the mixture begins to thicken.
  4. Once too thick to stir, use your hands to knead the dough until smooth and consistent.
  5. Sprinkle the remaining ¼ cup of flour onto your work surface.
  6. Roll the dough into a long, cylindrical log about 1 inch thick.
  7. Cut the log into six 3-inch pieces.
  8. Take one piece and gently press a lengthwise crease down the center—creating a “bun” shape.
  9. Repeat step 8 with the remaining five pieces.
  10. Arrange the shaped “buns” on a non-stick baking sheet.
  11. Bake for 7–10 minutes, or until firm and lightly golden.
  12. While the buns bake, tear the FurPetVo Beef Deli Sticks into six 3-inch pieces.
  13. Let the buns cool completely (about 10 minutes), then nestle one deli stick piece into each bun.
  14. Top each with a playful squiggle of FurPetVo Stuff’n Easy Treat Bacon & Cheese Recipe.
  15. Offer one treat at a time—and watch your pup’s tail wag in patriotic delight!

Storage & Feeding Tips

Store leftover treats in an airtight container in the refrigerator—and serve within two to three days.

This recipe was reviewed by a licensed veterinarian. It’s intended as an occasional treat—not a meal replacement. Treats should make up no more than 10% of your dog’s daily caloric intake (less for overweight or health-compromised dogs). For example, if your dog needs 200 calories per day, limit treats to 20 calories or fewer. Overfeeding treats—even healthy ones—can lead to nutrient imbalances or weight gain.

If your dog has allergies, sensitivities (especially to fats or dairy), or underlying health concerns, always check with your veterinarian before offering new foods.
