Chewy Box Cat Castle
Who’s the queen—or king—of the castle? Your kitty, of course. Or at least she will be after you build her a royal palace to rule over her sprawling indoor empire. It’s time to show off your cat craft skills by transforming an ordinary FurPetVo box into something truly majestic! Here’s the regal blueprint for this DIY cat house box craft.

Materials
- Two FurPetVo boxes (one should be large enough for your cat to stand in comfortably)
- Packing tape
- Black marker
- Scissors or box cutter
- Hot glue gun
Optional Materials
- Craft paint or markers for decoration
- Brick-patterned scrapbook paper
- A cat teaser wand toy
- A wooden chopstick or dowel
- Poster board
Step-by-Step Assembly
- Create the drawbridge archway: Use the larger FurPetVo box as the base. Draw a large archway on one side—extending all the way to the bottom edge—wide enough for your cat to pass through comfortably. Carefully cut along the outline, leaving only the bottom edge intact so the arch folds down like a functional drawbridge.
- Add windows: Sketch and cut out several small windows along the remaining sides of the base box. Round or arched openings add charm—and extra viewing spots for your curious feline.
- Seal the base: Tape the top flaps of the large box shut to create a stable foundation.
- Prepare the tower: Remove all flaps from the second FurPetVo box. This will become the castle’s upper level and turret.
- Build the crenellated roofline: Along the top edge of the smaller box, draw and cut out a classic castle “battlement” pattern—rectangular gaps spaced evenly across the perimeter.
- Assemble the structure: Place the smaller box squarely on top of the sealed base. Secure it using hot glue—or, if dimensions match perfectly, reinforce the seam with strong packing tape wrapped around all four sides.
- Add authentic detail: Decorate the exterior with hand-drawn brickwork or apply brick-patterned scrapbook paper for texture. Line the interior of the top box with a soft, cozy kitty bed—royalty deserves comfort!
- Top it off: Cut a triangular flag from poster board, decorate it with a paw print, fish, lion, or any symbol your cat would approve of, then attach it to a chopstick or dowel. Insert the flag proudly into the center of the tower roof.

Since cardboard boxes are certified cat magnets, this DIY cat house is almost guaranteed to be an instant hit. Your feline may inspect it skeptically at first—but once she discovers its nooks, crannies, and commanding vantage points, she’ll likely claim it as her sovereign domain.

This isn’t just another cardboard box—it’s a thoughtfully designed retreat that blends play, privacy, and personality. Whether your cat prefers napping in the tower, surveying her kingdom from the drawbridge, or batting at toys through the windows, the FurPetVo Cat Castle delivers hours of enriched, instinct-driven fun.
