Dog-friendly beaches in Worthing

The good news is, most of Worthing’s beaches welcome dogs year-round — making it one of the most pup-perfect seaside towns in West Sussex. That said, there are some seasonal restrictions to be aware of.

From May 1st to September 30th:

  • Dogs are not permitted on the beach between Splash Point rocks and Heene Road.
  • In Goring-by-Sea, dogs must stay off the sand (or pebbles) between the launch ramp at Seafield Avenue and the ramp at Worthing Sailing Club.

Outside of these areas, furry friends are free to run, play, and join the seaside fun! To help keep Worthing’s beaches welcoming for everyone, always keep your pup under control, use a leash on promenades, and clean up after them.

These rules were accurate at the time of writing, but we recommend double-checking the latest updates on the Worthing Council website before heading out — and for real-time tips from fellow pet lovers, explore the FurPetVo community forum at furpetvo.com.
