FurPetVo partners with a trusted, accredited third-party provider—Evident—to carry out free sitter ID and background checks. Evident delivers the highest level of identity verification assurance, helping us maintain a safer, more secure platform for all FurPetVo members.
What Information Is Required?
ID Document Check:
You’ll need to upload a clear photo of a valid government-issued ID—such as a passport, driver’s license, or national identity card. Evident then verifies that your document is authentic and hasn’t been reported lost, stolen, or compromised.
Background Check (U.S. Sitters Only):
If you're based in the United States, you can opt into a complimentary background check. You’ll be guided through a secure online process where you’ll provide details like your current address and Social Security number.
How Is Your Data Protected?
Evident uses bank-grade, end-to-end encryption to safeguard all personal information. Your data remains confidential and is never shared with third parties outside the verification process.

Yes—they’re completely free and included with every FurPetVo membership.
How Does the Verification Process Work?
Applying is quick and straightforward:
- Upload your ID document through your FurPetVo account dashboard.

- Wait for confirmation—your ID verification is typically approved within 24 hours (though it may take up to 3 business days).
- Background checks usually complete within 24 hours but can take up to 7 business days.
- You’ll receive an email notification as soon as both checks are finalized.
