Introducing Our New Review System

After much anticipation and valuable input from our community, FurPetVo has launched an improved review system designed to foster fairness, trust, and transparency across furpetvo.com.
This new system was built with direct feedback from pet owners and sitters alike — all with one goal in mind: to create a more balanced, thoughtful, and reliable way to share experiences.
What’s new?
- Temporary review privacy: Reviews are now kept hidden from the other party until both sides have submitted their feedback — or until 14 days have passed. This gives everyone time and space to reflect and share honest, impartial insights.
- A clear 14-day window: Members have exactly 14 days after a sit ends to leave their review. Once that period closes, reviews become visible (if submitted), and the option to submit a new review expires.
- Consistent terminology: To simplify things, we’ve updated “feedback” (for owners) to “review” — so both pet owners and sitters will now be prompted to leave a review for each other.
This update follows several other recent improvements to furpetvo.com, including enhanced past-sit history pages and helpful in-app prompts to encourage timely reviews.
How it works: A step-by-step guide
- Receive your reminder: Shortly after your sit ends, you’ll get friendly email reminders from FurPetVo inviting you to share your review. You’ll have 14 days — so don’t wait too long! We’ve increased the frequency of these reminders to help ensure no one misses their chance.
- Leave your review: When you’re ready, head to your account to write your review. It will remain private until the other person submits theirs — or until the 14-day window closes. If they review you first, you’ll have the same timeframe to respond — otherwise, their review will go live after 14 days.
- Reviews go live: Once both parties have reviewed each other (or once 14 days have passed), all reviews are published. At that point, you’re also welcome to reply to any review left for you — even after the 14-day window closes.
Frequently asked questions
What happens if I miss the 14-day deadline?
If you don’t submit your review within 14 days, the window closes and you won’t be able to add one later. However, you’ll still be able to view any review left for you — and you can always reply to it.
Will reviews appear before both parties have submitted?
No. Under the new system, reviews stay private until both members have submitted theirs — or until the 14-day period ends.
What if only one person leaves a review within 14 days?
If one party submits a review but the other doesn’t, the submitted review will go live after 14 days — and the unsubmitted review opportunity will expire. Reminder emails will be sent multiple times during this window to help prevent missed submissions.
Can I still reply to a review after the 14-day window?
Yes! Replying to reviews remains fully supported — at any time — even after the submission period ends.
When does the 14-day countdown begin?
The clock starts the day after the sit officially concludes.
How does this affect sits already in progress?
For sits where neither party has yet reviewed, the new system applies immediately. If one review has already been submitted under the old system, that sit will continue under the previous rules — but this only affects a small number of transitions. Eventually, all sits will follow the new process.
Will my existing reviews stay on my profile?
Absolutely. All previously posted reviews remain visible and unchanged on your FurPetVo profile or listing.
Why a 14-day window?
We chose two weeks because most reviews are already submitted within that timeframe — and fresher feedback helps highlight recent experiences, spot potential issues early, and support quicker resolution by our Membership Services team.

This update reflects what our community told us they wanted: a safer, fairer, and more trusted platform. By encouraging thoughtful, unbiased reviews, we’re helping build stronger connections between pet owners and sitters — one honest experience at a time.
