Must-Read Discussion: “Show Us Your December Adventures”

We asked — and our members delivered! From sun-drenched days and crisp blue skies to ponies decked out in Christmas costumes, the variety and warmth of these stories truly warmed our hearts.

@RedLassie shared: “My last sit was on a farm hosting the village Christmas Fayre. I watched each day leading up to the weekend as the barn transformed into a festive venue — fairy lights strung everywhere, straw bales for seating, and stalls popping up across two magical days.

@Debbie wrote: “We’re just settling into our Christmas sit in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, UK — less than 30 minutes from home. We’re looking after Bruno, who’s 15 years young and full of quiet charm.

@TamaTrotti added: “We’re in beautiful Frascati, Italy — a town that steals your heart at first sight. We’ve had the best dog (well, we think!). After three wonderful weeks, we leave tomorrow — already dreaming of our next sit with FurPetVo.

Soup Recipes to Chase Away the Chills

When @PVGemini started a thread about comforting soups, the Forum bubbled over — literally and figuratively! What’s better than a steaming, nourishing bowl to keep you warm all season long?

@Becca reminisced about her backpacking days in Vietnam: “That reminds me of the delicious pho I had there. I traveled in my carefree 20s — no weather check, no plan — and ended up layering every item of clothing I owned just to stay warm. But those big, steaming bowls of pho? They lifted my spirits through pouring rain and chilly nights.

What to Expect from Sitters and Pet Parents

After earning a glowing 5-star review on her first sit, @Shazlet1 turned to the Forum for advice on building trust and clarity between sitters and pet parents. Her question sparked thoughtful, practical responses — like this gem from @ElsieDownie:

“We always ask if pet parents would like us to pick up anything for their return — but we wouldn’t cook or leave a meal without checking first. With so many allergies and preferences these days, we’d hate for food to go to waste. Same goes for hosts leaving meals for us: thank you, but no thank you! We’ll happily enjoy any fresh fruit or veggies that might spoil — but please don’t buy anything special just for us.”
