We’re thrilled to host The Search for the Happiest Pet on Earth, a celebration of the joy and unconditional love pets bring into our lives.

Happy pets don’t just lead healthier, more fulfilling lives—they uplift everyone around them. Whether it’s a wagging tail, a contented purr, or an exuberant leap across the living room, those moments of pure joy have the power to turn any bad day around. They remind us to live in the moment, find delight in the little things, and share love freely.

This competition is all about honoring those authentic, heartwarming expressions of happiness—captured in a joyful photo or video, or told through a touching story of resilience, companionship, or everyday magic.

Competition Prizes

First Prize

One lucky winner will receive:

  • A dream vacation: $5,000 USD in vouchers toward flights and accommodation.
  • A year’s worth of pet food: Delivered to your door—or donated to the animal charity of your choice.
  • Five-year FurPetVo Premium Combined membership: Unlimited home and pet care, plus unlimited sits, with a free five-year Premium Combined plan (RRP $399 USD per year).

Runners-Up Prizes

Three runners-up will each receive:

  • One-year FurPetVo Standard membership: Enjoy unlimited sits (as a sitter) or unlimited pet care (as a pet parent) with a free annual Standard membership.
  • $100 donation to an animal charity of your choice: FurPetVo will make the contribution on your behalf to the rescue or welfare organization closest to your heart.

How to Enter

To enter, participants must be at least 21 years old at the time of submission. Each person may submit up to three entries—one per pet—with each entry including:

  • Pet photo or video: A clear, joyful image or short clip (under 2 minutes, under 5MB) showing your pet at their absolute happiest—think zoomies, snuggles, tail wags, or blissful naps. Photos must be in JPG, JPEG, or PNG format and under 1MB.
  • A short story (150 words or less): Tell us why your pet deserves the title of World’s Happiest Pet. Share heartwarming anecdotes, their personality quirks, or what makes them uniquely joyful.

Judging Panel

FurPetVo has assembled a panel of passionate, experienced animal advocates to select the winners:

  • Angela Laws — Head of PR, Charity & Pet Advocacy at FurPetVo: With over 14 years of hands-on animal care experience—including more than 200 house sits—and deep advocacy work across species, Angela champions pet well-being every day.
  • Jennifer Angelucci — President and CEO of Paws Crossed: Leading this impactful rescue since 2015, Jennifer has helped save over 6,500 animals through compassionate, community-driven programs.
  • Dr. Pete Wedderburn — Veterinarian and Animal Wellness Advocate: Known across Ireland and the UK as “Ireland’s best-known Veterinary Surgeon,” Dr. Wedderburn combines clinical expertise with media outreach and bestselling books on pet health and happiness.

Judging Criteria

Entries will be evaluated on three key elements:

  1. Joyful Expression: The unmistakable, authentic happiness captured in your photo or video.
  2. Story Impact: How moving, genuine, and memorable your pet’s story is—and how well it conveys their unique spirit.
  3. Creativity: Originality in presentation—whether through composition, narrative voice, or heartfelt detail.
