Leanna Ayala discovered Maverick lying quietly near the store entrance. In a viral Instagram video, she shared that he had waited there for three days before animal control arrived. Despite his distress, Maverick remained calm, sweet, and docile—allowing strangers to approach and pet him.

This literally took a village!!!! I couldn’t have done this without you!”
She described his transformation as “a rollercoaster—from abandoned at Walmart with all his toys, to a new life in WA 💗.” And she emphasized what mattered most: “Maverick has been through so much in such a short time.
